hi everyone.. this is my first time trying to build a wooden model ship. having a great time. learning a lot ,a lot to learn.they say you learn from your mistakes, so i should be a genius after this is done.i am working on the front end and will start the masts soon. sorry about my terminology because i have none . a little nervous about the rigging. question ,do i complete all the rigging first and then put the sails up. also how do the sails hook to the spares. do i use a needle and kind of thread around. sorry for the stupid questions. i have one more. in the kit i have small round beads with holes going through the center. no idea what they are for. thanks for reading this ,great hobby that will give me years of pleasure. one more thing what knifes do you guys use,i have to buy some, the utility ones are too big.

WOW I love the model. I do not have the answer for you, but am interested in the answer. I have a Constitution I have been working on for years, and am stuck on the rigging. Maybe your answer will help.

Congratulations, you have done very well so far. She is looking great! What is the kit manufacture? What company? As for the rigging, I'm sure there must have been a set of directions with the kit, so just follow their instructions. The sails can go on once the standing rigging is done , it may be a good idea to attach the sails to the spars before you install them, just makes it a bit easier. The sails are just tied onto the spars, the top of the sail to the spar. Then install the running rigging. That will be your last chore, apart from the base. Those little beads with the holes through them are blocks, kit blocks are not made very well, so you might want to make your own, but that is a skill that not everyone has, or has patience to do it. Your rigging instructions will tell you where the blocks should go. Keep up the good work, she's looking good so far. Keep us posted with your progress. Bob
