| | Black bear carved in pine knot~ This pine knot is where it was cut off some lumber. I relief carved the knot on front with the back nice and smooth for a hanger. Hes a younger black bear,hes 5 X 8 inches.

| | Re: Black bear carved in pine knot~ dadgumit!!!! see there you go again forrest making way cool stuff out of nothing!!! i love the bear super paint and carving. i love bears maybe the fact i kinda resemble one!! lol i've carved a few but not as well as that,i do like the new lil quick carve bear in the new wci think i'll be trying that one. keep up the great work |

If people had seen this dirty knot,they would have hollar YUKkkk but some cleaning,sanding and carving plus painting it,it will sell pretty good. I make large 2 ft by 2ft picts,days of work but alot of people dont have the space for them so smaller cavings & art work,they will buy more of them.

Its easier to cut{carve} with the grain. Hes looking to his right at the hole in the old tree,he thinks theres a honey cone in it. I wanted to carve a honey cone and a few bees flying round but they would have gotten in the bears face too much to do that. I value your thoughts on this bear.

| | Re: Black bear carved in pine knot~ Forrest, I don't do much relief carving, but I know a nice one when I see one. That's a nice one. Lots of carved bears look either mean or silly; not yours. Yours has the look of warm compassion. You have captured the innocent look of a young bear perfectly.
