Default Black bear

This is a younger female black bear going in a rocky den. Its relief carved from a 7 X 14 inch saw mill cut off,its a really hard wood,Im thinking its black gum which is a hard wood. Sweet gum isnt that hard,I know its not oak, hickory, laurel or locus,Ive carved thoses before.

I mounted a cherry tree branch behind it where it will sit up higher. The finish is too shiney right now,I will dull it down with a mate finish soon.

Your thoughts are more than welcome. Thks Forrest
