Default Birdhouse

This is a birdhouse I made about three years ago, it's all redwood. I carved the shingles on the roof. I'll have to try another one of these someday it sure was fun!
Hope you like it, your comments are always welcome.

Good idea Steve,
Maybe I'll make the whole front of the birdhouse a woodspirit face,

Not yet Josef,
you see... I did this three years ago and I'm not sure if I used a finish that would be suitable for the outdoors. The next one I will make sure!

Great job Alex.
However.....I read an article once, where someone from the Audoban Society was trying to get the message out to builders of birdhouses to stop adding perches. He said the bird that fits inside the house can fly in through the hole. He said the perch allows bigger nest robber birds to stand on it and eat the nestlings.
Dunno if it's true or not.....I'm just sayin'.

Greg,
I read the same thing. The birdhouses that I make for outside don't have perches, they are a completely different design actually. This one isn't for outside just a decoration for indoors. thanks for looking
