Default Bench photos for icarve2003

You can see the photos I found of the bench in the other stuff album. I wish I had something better on hand to show. I will photo this bench in the upright position and post within a couple weeks. As I said I will photo the building of the new bench step by step and give close up's.

Take Care
Dale

That bench and shop tend to make me extremely envious! Mine is dingy nd cluttered, and i can't seem to get it straightened out.....oh, well.....

Thanks a lot for posting that Dale. What a great work area you've got there! I love that bench, I'm going to have to make something like that. I've got a smaller table that I made, but I tend to run out of space when I lay out all of my tools. Looks like you've got everything right there.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing more photos.

Chris.

Thanks Al

In turn I am envious of your wood spirit. The shop in the photo is 3,000 sf so it is easy to keep in order. The bench does make for a great place to carve and it was fairly easy to build. The down side is it weighs a little over 350# and is hard to move. The cost to build it is around $200.00 - $250.00. There is no bounce in the top what so ever and there is no flex in the center even in the raised position.

The new version of this bench will have a smaller footprint and offer doors and drawers for storage. It will also be a little prettier to look at. This will be made from domestic hardwoods that I have on hand and be finished with an Tung Oil and varnish mix. I can't wait to get started.

Take Care
