Default Been a While - Carved Pencils and a Golf Tee Wood Spirit

Well, it has been quite a while since I posted any carvings. I haven't seem to have the time to do much carving this year. With a new baby born a few months ago, I have been busy with other things. Anyway.......

Here are a few photos of some carvings I have done in the last couple of days. They are not much, but it is good to put knife back to wood again. The pencils were done with my pocket knife. They are for the grandson of a friend of mine. He likes cowboys and indians.

The other pictures are of a golf tee. As you may remember, I enjoy carving golf balls, and I thought I would give carving the golf tee a try. I went with the traditional wood spirit type of carving. What do you think?

Thanks for looking.

Mark

Great pencils! Do you think there is a pencil that carves better than another?

I have carved alot of wooden pencils. I personally have never used the composite pencils. The ones I use come from Dollar General and are two packs of 10 for $1.00. That is a pretty low material cost.

I don't like the round wooden pencils like those sold at Christmas time. The wood in these don't seem to carve as well.

These are number 2 pencils by the way.
