Basswood for sale in Buffalo NY area?

Hi, Can anyone advise me where I can purchase basswood in the area of Buffalo to Niagara Falls NY?

Don,

If your looking to pick up a quick small piece, go to the Rocklear store on Transit just past Maple, a little pricing but not bad on small pieces.

Are you a member of any of the local carving clubs? Guys always have basswood available.

What size are you looking for and I'll check my stock for you.

I also go up to Fort Erie, Canada....a nice lumber company up there with lots of basswood, canadian dollars, only a 15 minutes from peach bridge.

I haven't found much in the way of quality local basswood. I have been purchasing from Woodcraft here in Rochester which I would rate as "good", because everything else I've gotten locally has contained quite a few blemishes and i would only rate as "poor". The local stuff is usually yellow in color and not all that pretty if you are considering a "wash" type finish.

I'm considering ordering mail order for future purchases now that I've seen some high quality pieces (roughouts from Gary Falin).
