Barzon's Little Brother

OK ... another walking stick topper do over. This time I stuck with the theme of Viking throughout the carving. No problems for this little guy having a split personnality. No horns becoming feathers ... no Indian head dresses ... just pure viking.

That's a great little Viking cane topper! Perfect. Reminds me of a little guy I did in a sketch for a relief carving that I had planned.....only yours is better......I'm not very good at sketching. But the idea is great. Well done Susan. Keep up the good work.

I like him! He reminds me of what I expected my Norwegian Father-in-Law to look like before I met him...I married his little girl 28 years ago without asking his permission, let alone meeting him! In fact, he didn't show up with a sword at all, it was a 30.30 Marlin rifle! Instead of using it on me, he gave it to me! To protect his little girl with, I guess!

Susan that is a beautiful topper for your cane you really are one talented lady. You said you would be able to find a nice home at your pond for one of my tree spirits in Maryland. Maybe I should come down for a visit and we could carve cane toppers and pond ornaments LOL. That would be really neat I would just love to take one of your classes.

Glad to see that Barzon's little bro' didn't end up eternally confused and psychologically scarred for life from all the identity confusion forced upon him!! My heart did sink for an instant of a moment when I first confused the sword for a dress tie... but I came quickly back to my senses as things began to come together and I knew that the family name has been restored... definitely another wonderful Viking! Smile

This really is a nice one and you are getting me closer and closer to trying one myself but for the moment the hot and humid summer weather has hit us hard this week and I'm dragging just a bit. I do have my fingers crossed that you will end up finishing him with your super color blending technique.
