Default Barettes and Luck

Was at the lumber yard and they were just starting to cut a box elder. He called me over to the saw and said you have to see this. The wood not only had the red stripes thru it but it is also tiger striped and curley in the same piece of wood. Of course the prime wood gets sold at a price I cant afford, they started cleaning up the slab wood and headed for the dumpster. Well I went dunpster diving. I can probably get three or four walking sticks and a bunch of smaller items from the wood. Picked up a couple of walnut burls while I was there and lucked out there too. 70% usable wood from the burls. Pics are Samples of the Wood.

Nice find, Goody! That piece with the red stripe is especially beautiful. One man's trash is another man's treasure. . .

Do you power carve those barettes?

Very nice barettes . I don't recall ever seeing wood like the first one however I'm sure the beautiful finish you put on it made it look a little different than in the lumber yard

Don't you just love beautiful wood? Makes you want to hold it and feel it's texture...you did a great job of bringing out the color and grain of the wood Goody! Thanks for pulling these chips out of the dumpster and bringing to life for us...
