Question Bandsawing Patterns

When you bandsaw a pattern, whats the smallest cutting radius can you make? I'm assuming that most folks use a 1/4" blade. I'm very cautious about how small of a turn I make when cutting out blanks. I also just do a side view when I cut out a pattern, then go back and make some of the more intricate cuts. I generally cut 3" to 4" thick wood. Am I being to big of a chicken?

I use a1/4 -4teeth per inch skip tooth blade, the 4 teeth and the skip tooth
lets the blade make very short turns.I also cut the front view first and leave
the waste wood attached till I cut the side and then take a knife and just
break off the waste wood from the front view.

If you need them, there are finer blades. I have a 1/8" and a 1/16" for my Laguna. But I use mostly the big 3/4" Resaw King blade on it for ripping really straight cuts. I usually shape on the 10" Delta with a 1/4" blade.

The Laguna is a big investment, but worth it to me. You can take a log and rip it to what ever size you want. With my ship modelling, I use a lot of planks of various sizes and woods, and this does the trick.
