Hi Greenman, can't really give you anything like facts and figures and I don't have that particular Wayne Barton book(how come I have everything else anybody has written about woodcarving(G)), but here's a suggestion that might help.
A few days ago there was a balancing wine caddy on eBay, the dimensions where given along with a half a dozen pictures. Maybe you can figure the angle out by downloading the pictures, print them out and lay a protractor on the picture of the wine caddy in use?
Here's the url for the eBay item, bidding is closed now.

Other than that I would contact Wayne Barton at his web site and ask for the missing info.

I also need to find out if the hole for the bottle is also angled and how far down from the top should the hole be drilled and how big should the hole be.
Hopefully, I can make a couple of these before Christmas rolls around for gifts. Thanks. |
