Default Back from Disney World and inspired

Hi Gang,
Well I am finally back from my trip to Disney World had a great time with the grandchildren. I dont think I will ever drive that again I did it in two days and thats just too far to drive. Disney if you havent been is truly a magical world all of its own I felt like a kid again and of course I had to do all the rides with my grandson's. Not only was it a fantastic week but also very inspiring. I came back with many ideas for my carvings all inspired by Disney. My favorite was the "Tree of Life" an amazing sculpture that is huge. I think I will give something like that a try if I can find a log big enough. I will have it put in my back yard and work on it for years. Nice to be back now if I could ever get caught up on all of the posts I missed in the past two weeks.
Colin

Colin,

Welcome back!!! At least you did not have to drive back through the blizzard that hit buffalo on Sunday, but man looking at a map thats a long drive for you...let alone maintain your sanity.

Disneyworld is wonderful place for inspiration, there is more that the eye can see or take in!! If I understand it correctly the tree of life was actually manufactured...(could be worng on this one...)...but just by its shear size has to be an awesome sight!!.

So where's the picture of you with your mouse ears??? (or should that be a Goofy hat? LOL)

Tony

Tony you are right it seems to be made out of resin of some kind but the sheer size of it is out of this world. Even though it has been manufactured it is still a work of art. Some one had to sculpt that creation. Any way it really inspired me if it can be manufactured it can be carved I believe.

Welcome back, Colin, we've missed you! I'd love to see that tree, my son and his family were down there last year and my Grandson was super impressed with it...I think he had ideas of Grandma doing something, smaller scale, of course, like that someday! Again, welcome back! Talking Callynne
