Default Is anyone selling any of there carvings?

I know I have not posted for a while I recently got laid off from work and believe it or not I still have been quite busy I was just curious if anyone has been selling any of their work with everyone watching their money so closely? I really do not have any to sell right now or post on WCI for that matter. So I guess I could try to make some and see what happens. Although I am more quality than quanity I want my carvings to not only be worth something but make people go wow! When they see them and not look like some sweat shop junk from China. Anyway just thought I would ask I hope all is well with everyone.

I did some carving at a local fair this past Saturday and while I didn't sell any carvings I could have sold several dragons. I didn't plan to sell anything at the fair I was only there to do a demonstration.

I've sold a few at a wood carving show once or twice....but mostly, because I can't keep all the carvings that I make, I give them away. When some one comes in to my home and sees one that he/she likes, they can have it.

I have sold a few carvings this year. But, most folks are coming to me for boxes, bird houses, bat houses and such.

I am new to carving but I have sold some scroll works and turning projects at craft fairs and shows. Just community and church fairs. In my part of the country this is not the time to sell. Even in a good economy. Right now people are more focused on summer time fun. Make your inventory now. IMHO, craft fairs and shows are a whole lot better between mid November and Christmas.

i have still been selling pretty good at the farmers/craft market and seem to end up with several orders about every week, so i consider myself fairly lucky to be able to make some extra cash while doing what i like to do.

I've sold a couple of chip carved crosses, but I'm finding most of what sells is more of need not want.
(The crosses, BTW, are for Christmas)
I work slow, so I have to get orders early.LOL!

I met a man who would sit outside of a gift shop in the summertime and carve fish with just a knife. He would sell some. Location and entertainment were important.
