Default Another wood spirit

I was talking with Ron this morning. Everything seems to have settled down in Kansas. Athough Ron was in the path of on of the over 100 Tornado's that cut through his part of the world, this one turned and went the other way. We are all greatful that Ron is safe and my prayers go out to all the people devestated by those Funnel Clouds.
Here is a Cedar carving that I just did the piece is about four feet high and over 30 inches across. I promised Ron that I would post a picture of it he said that I had to be sure to do it. Just another one of my wood spirits Ron not a whole lot different except the piece of wood had a flow to the bottom of the stump and I made some deep swirls in the beard. You can see the size if you compare it to the bench I sat it on.

Thumbs up WOW Colin thats nice..

I sure like your spirits colin the size just amazes me. I`m working on getting me a set of big tools to carve bigger spirits. Right now I make do with a 20 pc detail set. Of course my spirits are no where as big as yours. Great job on the spirit, you are an inspiration thanks for sharing...Knothole

I remember your woodspirits well my friend. If I need a reminder I just pick up my staff you carved me. I would still like to get my hands on the bigger version someday and maybe I will. See what a little sunshine will do for you this more like the Colin we know. Keep up the good work and thanks for checking on me would take allot to blow me away. I also forgot to tell you that I have now lost 32 lbs so I better watch those high winds.

The beard is a drift from your norm Colin - looks good. We all start to settle into a comfort with certain styles. A slight change, such as the one you did with the beard, adds another dimension to your brand of carving. I'm trying my hardest to branch out (excuse the pun) and try different styles...having said that...carving styles become a trademark after a time. Your carvings always says who holds the mallet. Another well done carving Colin.
