Default Another project completed!!!

I took a carving course by Tom Gallagher at Lee Valley here in Toronto on how to carve the human hand.

Here is my completed project.

Also, my carving area and the tool, dremel, foredom holder my husband and I made with an old cupboard side, the bottom of an old office chair and piece of conduit and two coat hangers on a piece of wood.

You look as if you have everything well organized, good imagination. The hands look real, well done. Merle

Deborah,
The hands are great! I really like your set up. Looks like you have everything you need right there. By the way, what to you use for dust collecting while using power?

Deborah: I'm sure glad you posted photo #3, since I was wondering what happened to the little finger in photo #2. Good job; good proportions and shape. Mike

Deborah,

I too like the tool rack. My work space should look so organized. Does to white plate rotate around the pole or does the whole unit rotate or both?

Good job on the hands.

John

Keith; The dust collection system is on our wish list so far, I usually just use a dust mask and then vacumn when I am through.

John; The whole thing turns but the white circle part is stationary. On top of the white circle is another circle with holes I drilled so I could put my dremel bits I use the most often in it. So, everything is within my reach when I am carving. I thought if the circles turned as well, I would likely hurt myself with something as I am a bit of a klutz.

It is very handy and I can take the whole thing outside in the nice weather and not have to make 80 trips to get everything I am going to use up the stairs and outside as my carving area is in the basement.
