I hadn't checked out your website til now. Fascinating! Are the boxes ones you've done? Very nice!
We're almost neighbors, give or take 400 miles. I'm in Port St. Joe, Florida, near Panama City. If you're anywhere near sometime, stop by. I'd be happy to let you take a close look at the chairs.
Have a great day!

| | Re: Animated Wood Carving of Slovakia Hi Wade,
Yes, I did all of that stuff on the page that's linked, and about 3 years of stuff besides. I have finally put together a book portfolio of just wood stuff that represents most of my work. I'm missing pictures of about 15 pieces, but I have feelers out to get pictures of those as well. The web page is a small representation of my work for the past 3 years. I really need to update it. This wood carving stuff is really addictive!
I took your advice already, by the way, and went ahead and oiled those trees. They look better now, and I'm satisfied with them. Sometimes you just have to finish something before you lose the momentum to start the next one.
Port St. Joe huh? If I get down that way, I will definitely try to let you know and come visit those chairs (and you and your wife of course). I've been in that area before. It's beautiful. I almost moved to Appalachicola about 12 years ago. Came here to Dahlonega, GA instead.
Thanks for the invite..

| | Re: Animated Wood Carving of Slovakia Thanks for the link Basketball Jones, I was just out in that area last weekend, wish I'd known about it then. I'm going to have to stop by the store and check it out next time I'm out there!
Thor, what great boxes those are!! I hadn't thought of building a box and carving it like that, beautiful ideas and work there!! Callynne |

| | Re: Animated Wood Carving of Slovakia Thanks Callynne,
The boxes are based loosely on the Mastermere tool box found in a bog from about the 9th century . It contained wood carving and wood working tools. I sell, trade, and donate them to Medieval reenactors who need an authentic box to use to hide modern day stuff when they are at a weekend event. I enjoy carving the boxes, and the history of carvings that Vikings did. They were awesome. Doing those for folks has kept me busy for 3 years. I'm branching out now with some more contemporary works that I can display in my gallery.
