Hello, At our last club gathering we were talking about doing a club project from a roughout. We decided it should be an animal and that we would all work on the same thing for example we would all do a bear. Also, it should be a realistic one and not a caricature one. I haven't contacted any suppliers of roughouts yet I just wanted to post this question here first to get some suggestions. My question is do you know of anyone (company or individual) that supplies good quality animal roughouts (probably a bear) that may give a club a quantity discount? Or, do you have a favorit supplier you would recommend? If I hadn't mentioned it before, last July we started a new woodcarving club here in Yankton, SD. We are known as the "River City Area Woodcarvers". Thanks, Chipper67

I have not done business with them but I think they had a bear and a discount if over 3 were ordered. www.woodcarverswarehouse.co

Chipper, there is a carver / teacher, I think her name is Leah Goddard, she is teaching at the Fl. roundup (will try to find you a link), she had some real nice ones that I looked at last weekend at a carving show. Iam sure you could work out a quanity deal. Dave Last edited by Gulf Coast Handyman; 02-24-2010 at 01:51 PM. |

I also live in Yankton Sd, I am visiting with my parents in Denver Colorado this weekend, and my mom is not getting around well, she should be using a cane, but does not want to use it, "I hate it" are her feelings about it, because it is what old people use. So I would like to find a carved cane with an animal on the handle preferably a bear, but I don't know who to contact, or where to look, can you direct me? you can email me at challey57@msn.com Thanks |
