Hi , I have three wood carvings that I believe are done by Andy Anderson. I will try and post pictures with this thread. They were sadly damaged in shipping and I am looking for someone that could appraise them for an insurance replacement value. If anyone could please reply with their opinions or if anyone knows of someone I can show them to so they can be authenticated and repaired? I would greatly appreciate any help offered. The horse is named "STEW" but the others are not signed.

Sorry, but I really don't think these are Anderson carvings. They may have been taken from his patterns but they just don't have the Anderson look to them.

I agree whole hardly with Lynn on this one .. Those are not Andersons original work .. I see his work all the time at the Stark Museum in Orange Texas and these look like copies of his work .. the faces are all wrong and the painting is too new .. do you have signatures on them ? Gene

My first thought when looking at the horse is that it was carved by some guy named Stew.... like in Stewart. I've only seen a few of Anderson's carvings on the Internet and really am not familiar enough to make a determination. However, I can't imagine a carver of his reputation "branding" a horse like that.

Hi and thank you for all your comments. I have talked to a few people about them and someone mentioned that they could be Bud O'Dell carvings. I have learned that he was the stepson of Andy Anderson and his work looks very familiar to Andy's. Any comments again would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm familiar with O'dell's work also and doubt if they are his either. Just too angular for either of them.
