Default AMERICAN FU ... at last

This piece has sat in the back of my shop and mocked me for almost six years...

I had a sign job that had a 30" dia. centerpiece with something similar, I was so intrigued by it that I promised myself I would do a big one. So I bought $200 worth of basswood, had it glued-up and cut into a 60" dia. circle.

I started it and got side-tracked, went back to it and got side-tracked, started it and got side-tracked. This went on for almost six years. Good thing I got laid off, at last... it's done!

WOW! That is stunning, both in size and design. Too bad you got laid off, but great that you were able to finish such a beautiful piece. Where will you mount it now? Thanks for sharing.

Wow John! Nice job! That would make a perfect table top with a nice thick piece of glass on it to prevent any damage to your work...nice way to show off your great work!!!

It looks really good , nicely finished . The backround finish is really cool . If you don't mind sharing what was the process for that .
