You know Wade stirring things up sometimes is a good thing. How many of us go through life and never do any soul searching. It isnt a bad thing to take a really good look at yourself sometimes. When you do you have to be honest with yourself and that is exactly what I was doing. I have been told on many occasions here that I come up with threads that really make people think. That is not a bad thing also it makes for good reading. I cherish the friendships I have made here you guys are the best, In all my ramblings I didnt get one negative comment only positive reinforcement and that says a whole lot for not only the quality of this message board but more so the quality of the people that use it.

Colin, I understand exactly what you mean, even though you are wrong!

I am a rank beginner, you might say the second assistant to an apprentice carver. I would describe my work as childlike and innocent. The headhunters of Fiji and Tonga would probably call it Early Primitve. I don't care, I am having fun!

At the moment I desperately want to get better. To that end, I am going to Creede, CO in July for more education. I will have 4 days with Dave Stetson, and 1 day each with Mueller, Nelson and Sears. My first goal is to overcome the intimidation I feel when I look at all of the others work on this board and to carve something worth posting. If I could be just half as good as you are now I would be very happy!

Colin, you are a wood craver, painter ,artist.
Who is the better artist Michealangilo or Picasso?
both are great, just different styles.
I think you need spring to hit up there in the great white north.
The wintertime blues got ya bad, man.

Neither am I, yet. But I'm gonna make an attempt to do a damn fine imitation of one.
