Default Alder Hand

I just finished this carving and have posted in general carvings and my photo albums.
This carving is a tribute piece to the doctors and staff at the hand clinic in the hospital here. It is the best one in the western part of Canada here in our little city. Made that way due to those who work there
It is also a tribute to all who have gone through the process of injury, surgeries, rehabilitation, and recovery, and those that will follow us.
One year ago today March 10th I had my accident and this was the first carving I started after the wounds had closed. It was carved from green alder, took several months to dry. The finish is oil and wax, marble base and cork pad.
