Default Alaskan carved lamp information

I am looking for information about a pair of carved lamps I purchased at a recent auction. One features an elk standing in front of a tree, the other a deer in front of a tree. They appear to be carved from l piece of wood. The shades are made of thin slats of alternating woods which are laced together. There is a stamped signature on the back of each lamp. It appears to read... Andre Dub or something close to that. I was told they were purchased in Alaska some time ago, probably the l950's or l960's. Thanks.

Default Re: Alaskan carved lamp information

Hi. I was born and raised in Alaska and came from Anchorage. My mother in the 50's bought two lamps from a person down the road from us, but they were not carved but they were made out of caribou antler and were on a caribou antler base, with pictures of animals for the shade. Don't know if this helps but a start.
