This is my second carving. I have learned a lot of from this board. Let me know what you think.

Nice job MG! If I could make one suggestion... take your V-tool and add a couple of vertical cuts to the beard and mustache. Angle the cuts to the mustache out to the sides. That will really make the beard and mustache stand out and separate it from the body. If your don't have a V-tool you can to the same thing with your knife by making small stop cuts.

You are off to a good start...I can see some pretty clean cuts there so that is a plus. You might try and round the block some more, will help get rid of the square look we all do when we first start out. You also might consider angling the arms some on the next one, most folks don't stand with their arms straight down as their pockets are more toward the front of the pant....will look a bit more natural. Keep up the good practice, you are on the right track.

You are off to a good start,better than I did when I first started carving.
I wish I could have had all the tips that you just received from some great carvers.
Keep up the good work and let's how long it will take you to get addicted to carving.
