Susan, great idea. But its not the regulars to worry about its the mavericks or maybe even guests. Anything that smells bad should be reported asap so that maybe we can nip it in the bud. Been on the board since Dec. and noticed how the regulars (moderators) post messages. Nobody is out for themselves and all are very serious about promoting carving. Maybe a solution is allow only postings by those who ID themselves. IMHO

Hi G,
This, particularly your first line, should be submitted to Readers Digest! Very Funny! I didn't care for spam as a kid and even less now! It's appropriately named, hu! (not a product endorsement!) I suppose I should appreciate macaroni and cheese, spam, and anything else that caused myself and my siblings to survive childhood! I just haven't been THAT hungry in a long time and I'm very thankful!

Just to clear things up and hopefully put any misunderstandings to rest. There is a huge distinction between solicited and unsolicited site information. There are a number of people (Rick, Irish, John, Terri) who have links to their sites that sell carving supplies. There are also multiple authors and experts. I guess technically that would make them all competitorsStar Wars . I enjoy looking and drooling at Rick and Irish's site links and reviewing books. I know lots of us want to drool over carving tools and wood suppliers and maybe get e steal err deal when we can. Big Wayne has activity in his Yahoo groups HouseOfWoodCarving all done in good taste. The info is contributed by people who contribute something other than just their business.

I'm not a big rule guy, just a dude who likes to carve for fun. This board has taken off immensely the past few months. People don't need to feel compelled to change their posting style just because of one minor event. It's an information and fun board to view. So go about your business (oops) and carry on as normal.

My vote goes to Susan! And speaking of vote... isn't that exactly what we have here. It's a free forum. If something smells like old decoys, vote to ignore it. I did.
