Default Adding On to the Out West Gallery

My son Shaun, who is visiting us from Bahrain for a week, and I have been busy adding a new wing onto the Out West Gallery. While it will start out being a storage room for our Chuckwagon, it will eventually be used to expand the display area inside the Gallery. Working in 100 or more degree heat has really been fun but we got the job done. Now all I have to do is convince the wife to paint it.

I was joking with Shaun while we were working that we could expect a visit from the County Assessor at any moment as those guys can smell sawdust from 10 miles away. Sure enough, while Judy and I were over working on the property next door they came pulling in with cameras ready to snap a few photos to use as evidence to raise my taxes again!

No, I'm not kidding. The same thing happened when Judy and I were installing drywall in the larger building years ago. We had both the front and rear big doors open and the Chuckwagon was setting inside and I told them it was a storage building for my wagon. This time they ask Shaun if anyone was living in my shop, thinking it was a house. He opened the door and allowed them to look inside so they could see all the tools. They drove up the drive toward the house but I don't think they could see the sunroom we added a couple years ago. Maybe I'm still ahead of the game???

Lynn
Just be glad you don't live in Kansas. I think they raise your taxes for a new dog house.

Oklahoma is just the same......a friend had to fight to keep them from raising his when he put one of those Rubbermaid portable buildings in his backyard. Its getting to where I'm considering moving the horse trailer around every so often just to keep them from gigging me for that!

You certainly picked a hot week to work!

Looks like a good job, that should be worth a bunch of tax dollars Smile
