Default 9/11 tribute for my dad

this is a carving i did for my dad,he is a retired fire captain. they have a unique bond among themselves, and this really hit him hard, beyond the regular fear and anger and disgust everyone else felt,he had to deal with the thought of all those fire fighting brothers lost.they along with our military and law enforcement have the deep down drive to charge head long into danger when everyone else is fleeing. my God bless and be with all the ones lost and their families and friends.

i actually did this last year and it is a roughout but it was a caricature roughout that i tried to make more realistic, than the caricature it was suppose to be,i carved and burned into the helmet, what would be the reflection of the towers just before the New York skyline changed forever. the face i tried to do a blank almost unbelieving look, much like i saw on many of the firefighters faces. excuse the pic quality my daughters took these for me when she visited her grandparents today. had to post a link to pics they were to big.

I think you forgot the pic Mike and I checked your website but didn't see it there. (BTW, Nice WebSite!) Anyway, looking forward to seeing it. My son is about ready to graduate from the Omaha Fire Academy and then start his rotation.

That is really fantastic and beautifully done. My husband is a fireman, so this touches my heart, with your thoughtfull tribute and to hear everyones wonderful praise of the fearless. It is wonderful.
