Default 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer's wife

Back in May of this year I carved this little 7/16 X 1/2 inch farmer with a chicken from some scraps of maple wood. Wellllllllllllllll All summer when I worked here in my art room, I keep hearing this tinny voice from my desk drawer :::Wheres my wife:::::??? WHERE IS MY WIFE!!!

Taken a break for a few days after our bigest art show of the year in NC this past wk end,I thought I'd just enjoy myself this morning and to shut up the min. farmer, I would carve him a wife, course carved her a cat also and I know the farmer had a old dog somewhere around his farm.

So here's the group, his wife is a hair taller than the farmer, the dog is really too big to be in size with the rest but I'll leave him for now. They can free stand by themselves. They all can fit on a dime with room to spare.

These were fun to carve and paint,a good break for me.

Your comments are more than welcome and I hope you have enjoyed these little guys. Tn~

""UPDATE"" Today{Fri.} on page 4 here. I carved a old red mule to go along with the farmers family plus made a barn for all of them. Just posted it here. Its been fun carving these little mins and thanks for your thoughts and ckn them out!

Uh--you carved these, right? And you say you hear voices, right? Hmmm...somebody take all of those sharp things away from this gentleman--RIGHT NOW!!!

Jes' kiddin! Amazing! I had it tough doing a jenga block sized carving (Gonna be sorry I stirred that pot up, aren't I?). Never mind doing super-minis!

Great little, and I mean little carvings. Can't imagine carving anything that small, but you did a fantastic job.

Well that's interesting Tn, your going small while I seem to be going big...that's carving I'm talking about folksRed Face Couldn't imagine having the ability to do something that small without shaving off body parts. Then you have to paint those small pieces! Well done.

Awwwwwwww I wont sell these Gene, too hard packing them for a show, plus you think of how heavy they will be also! LOL They was fun to try in carve and the dog looks ok but dont know about the cat,he looks ok in hand but in picts it hard seeing it clearly{the cats head is turned alittle} I will practice more with some mins later.

Back to painting tomorrow, have a 3 day show Nov.9-11 with hrs 10am-8pm in Kingsport.I need alot more done before then. Its my last show, thank goodness!!

Gene my old friend,Im glad you enjoyed these little folks. Forrest
