| | 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer & Chicken This little farmer is carved from a small scrap of maple wood, I had left from making some turkey call boxes.Hes 7/16 of a inch wide and tall at 1/2 inch.
He was alot of fun to carve & paint, course it didnt take alot of paint! LOL
He has over alls on with a yellow shirt and a red bandanna in his back pocket.
I hope to carve a little hilly billy family soon?
Your thoughts on this little farmer is welcome.
Thanks for ckn this little guy out........Tenn

| | Re: 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer & Chicken Interesting. I have no idea how you can carve something that small. I'm having trouble seeing the small details.
Your annual wood cost won't be much with project like this! |

| | Re: 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer & Chicken I find it carving something smaller some what easier than a larger carving at times. These little guys{miniatures} are mosty by touch{being able to feel} carving them than actually seeing them. Theres places while painting them, its just guessing with some dots. I hope this kinda makes sense? I find it alot of fun and rewarding carving these little funny caricatures! I had a jar of small pieces or chunks of wood, just in case I would need them, till my first little ho bo carving and now I know why I had been saving the small pieces which helps to hold down the cost of wood....hahahaaa
Thanks for your input Mike!

| | Re: 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer & Chicken OK Tenn, you know we can see your picture in your avatar, but are you actually only 5 inches high? That's gotta be one of the smallest carvings I've seen.
Very interesting subject too. I really like the teeney, tiny chicken.

| | Re: 7/16" X 1/2 " Farmer & Chicken WELL?? Im 6'2" about 210 lbs. That pict was taken 2 years ago, guess I need to up date it with out a cap on so ppl will know I have hair too! LOL
I could have done better on the chic-chick but I never draw anything out and carve as I go,I should have planned a better chicken but didnt but Im glad you like the chicken anyway! I belive.NO! I know I can carve alot smaller but I dont use a mag-n--i-fying-glass so I will just have to see how much smaller I can feel. I would like to carve a hillbilly family{Paw,Maw and a boy and girl plus chickens,a dog, mule and a pig.{after June I will have that kinda time} Im glad you liked this farmer plus the chicken. Thanks as always,Thor
