This past weekend, the Woodworkers Show was in town. Our Carving Club had a booth where we exhibited and demonstrated whittling and carving. The intent was to get some folks interested in membership. I sat and whittled these mini wizard's and santa's, and gave most away. There was a huge crowd at the show, and we passed out dozens of club membership forms. A couple of the folks watching asked the popular question, "how long does it take to carve one of those". They determined it took me about 5 minutes. The young Amish kids were the most interested in the whittling and carving. Lots of fun was had, and hopefully some new members will come out of the event. Tom H |

Hi TomH, super looking little give-a-ways and you are right they draw interest. Our carving club gives away small carvings at shows. Generally they are the little 5-minute owls. I have even away the little santa's you showed us all how to carve. It's a good feeling! Kathy

Great carving, tom its hard to believe you can get that much detail from a 3/4" stick once but 15 times is unbelievable... i been thinking of something and while looking at your santas.. that theres not too much difference between santas, hillbilly's, cowboys, mountain men or hobos, other than some are a little un kept looking than others, the style of their hats,,, especially if your carving heads or bottle stoppers,
