Hi Gang, Just thought I would update you on that stick I was carving. I finally got it finished and when all was said and done I managed to put thirty woodspirit faces on the stick. My wife thought I was crazy when I painted sixty eyes and stuck them in the eye sockets. She said that she wouldnt have the patience to do that, well she is an avid quilt maker and I wouldnt have the patience to do a quilt. I didnt include all thirty faces because there isnt enough room. I could have used about five posts but didnt want to bore everyone. When you have seen one of my faces you have seen them all. At any rate let me know what you think or better still what you dont think. I know I got carried away and it is probably too many faces but I just did it for fun. Colin

Colin, a wonderful piece it is. I really enjoy your creativity, expressions, two-tone color, an dthe eyes pulling the face towards the direction carved. This is going to be a piece that will get alot of attention among your other pieces. Great job again as always though. Now back to your bigger tools for a break in the action, of course, with the background in the pictures, you've been busy with the larger tools too. Take care and thanks, I love it. |

Wow, Colin, that is way too cool. I must correct you though, I don't think any two of your faces are the same! Each has a unique character and expression. Well done. Very well done! Bob

When I see a project like this I feel so fortunate to have found this forum! What a unique carving and just imagine- 30 woodspirits on one stick! That's just the greatest! I know that you always request positive and negative feedback but I'll just let the bottom woodspirit in the number 4 photo do it for me: From the look on his face I believe that he's trying to tell you to get your fingers out of HIS photo! :-)

Great stick Colin. Now when you get a comission you can bring out this sampler and say "OK , Which one do you want on your tree?" Of course you will probably get a response of "all of them". I think there are 30 trees in our local park Don
