Default "3/4" bear cub

After carving wolves again Sunday afternoon till 8pm last night, thought Id carve a little bear cub just for fun before I was off to take my nights shower.Like all of the charms Ive been carving he also will stand on his all fours.I like to day dream now when I use to walk into my art room in the morning and think,what will I carve today?? Each day now its very clear to me...........Wolves!

Hes carved from the hard maple that I've been carving all the wolves in.

Hes 3/4 tall and 3/4 long. Just stained{no paint}

A fun relief{meaning a change} for me.

Course your thoughts or comments are always welcome.

Thks' Forrest

Forrest, you know I have a fondness for the small things that are carved. This little bear cub is yet another example of the fun you keep on having carving small. I think it's great. I am toying with the idea of carving pairs of these tiny animals for a very small Noah's Ark. I have been thinking about how could those of us that like to carve small combine our efforts and produce a group project. I guess the sticking point might be what to do with the finished effort. You're probably way too busy turnin out these fine little critters to be interested anyway. Keep up the fun stuff.

Tom H,I day dream of some much larger carving while Im carving all the little wolves charms.A group carving project would be neat but I enjoy doing different things with my carvings as I can jump from oranges to apples in a heart beat.{kinda a lone wolf}LOL Im not good at sticking with something thats all planned out is also why I cant use a pattern or listen in a carving class. Your idea of the tinny Noahs Ark and all the little aminals would be very neat and I would enjoy seeing yours. Thanks for your neat ideas Tom and thanks for dropping by to ck out this little bear. Forrest

Forrest, now there's a switch, I understand it's a bear cub, I can't see it (the wifes got the binoculars today) but I'll assume it's cute. By the way, check your mail every day, I sent you a 40 foot maple tree so you could carve something I can see. (smile)
You're OLD friend

Big Dave,I cant carved 40 either aday,I use to have at times 4-5 posting going here at one time but it wont be much longer till I wont be carving for a while. My right hand is about gone.Saw my private Dr and was sent to a Neurology Dr in Nov.2007 and have severe carpal tunnel and have still carved since then.Just saw my VA Dr.waiting on him to send me to the Orthopedic Dr at the VA. Got to get this hand fixed.Its wrapped while carving and I wear a brace to bed every night.

{sorry about the cry-babying!} I know alot of people on board that carve with such pains and have bad hands. Its tough on them but like me,its hard to stop carving.

Thanks again Big Dave for your thoughts here old buddy!

Forrest
