Default 220 grit radial bristle discs

I need to buy some 220 grit (red) radial bristle discs. I can get 48 for about $1.50 each. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good source of these, at a better price??
Any suggestions will be appreciated!
Betty

The WoodCraft Shop - Online Store, good prices and very fair shipping!

Goodness, their price for 48 is $1.56 each - and that does not include shipping!

Those are not 3M radial discs, if that is what you are looking for. I was at carv=fest and looked for these sanding discs at their display and couldn't find them, looks like they are sandpaper discs. Anyone that has used these discs from Woodcraft, I would like to hear more about them myself. The cheapest I have ever fund the 3M discs rte about $1.30 each for the one inhc size..anyone that has a better source,I would love to have that as well.

I found the red 220 grit radial bristle discs for approximately $1 each at Ottofrei.com. In order to get that price, I had to order a minimum of 48. With that quantity, I am supposed to get a free mandrel. I will let you know how satisfactory this transaction turns out to be when my order arrives.

Suggest that you check out Rio Grande (www.riogrande.com) this is a jeweler supply company. They have 3M discs for less than one dollar. That price doesn't include shipping and handling. I haven't purchased anything in several years so I don't what the S&H costs are.

In addition to 3M discs they also have finishing papers (fancy sand paper) with grits up to 8000. Also there is a wide variety of burrs and dust masks. If you make wooden jewelry, they also have good findings that are superior to those that you buy in the craft stores. They do not carry any carving tools.

E George: Rio Grande is a great tip. Thanks for sharing. I will certainly check there when I need to place another order.

Betty,
I usually get mine from Woodcraft Supply in Bettendorf, Iowa. They have a catalogue and website with all their catalogue items shown and listed as www.woodcraft.com
Other catalogue sources are:
www.hummul.com
www.littleshavers.com
www.mdiwoodcarvers.com

I love the 3M radial discs--mostly use white--and have them in 3 different sizes and use them extensively to clean up carving.
I've gotten carving supplies from all of those I've listed and can recommend all of them, including:
www.texaswoodcarvers.com
www.mountainwoodcarvers.com

When shopping for carving supplies that I can't go put my hands on, I often check out online catalogues for comparisons. I'm sure I've used 3-4 others, but these come to mind and are bookmarked in my computer.
