2009 Wichita Show Dates -Judge Announced

Midwest Carvers may want to take note of the following announcement by Randy Landen.... Show chairman for the Wichita 2009 Show.

"
Plans are well underway for the 2009 Great Plains Woodcarver’s Show. Show dates are May 16-17, 2009. We will return to the Cessna Activity Center, and will again be joined by the Wichita Sculptor’s Guild. We have expanded our competition categories (six new), and increased advertising for the 2009 show. Applications to the show will be e-mailed in the very near future.

The woodcarving judge will be John Lee Engler. John is an accomplished woodcarver, painter and artist. He regularly instructs throughout the country, including the Woodcarving Rendezvous and the International Congress. John has served as a judge at a number of shows, including the International Wood Carver’s Congress in Davenport. His work in on display at a number of galleries including Peter Engler Designs in Branson, MO. We are excited to have John join us in 2009.

We hope that you’ll mark you calendars now and plan to attend the show in May. We look forward to seeing you."

The 2008 show was a very good show and no doubt 2009 will equal or exceed expectations.

I'll be looking for an application and certianly want to attend this year. John is a great carver and teacher. The Great Plains Woodcarvers have a successful show in the making. Randy will see to it!
