Default 1885 Amoskeag Steam Fire Engine

Hey there,
I need a favor from one of you who might live near a museum where they have one of these old steam fire engines. I need photos of all four sides and the more detailed areas. The ones I find on line usually only show one side. Some rough measurements of the wheels, height and length would also be realy helpful.
I'm thinking about carving one and creating a scene with dalmations as fire fighters once the band is done. I figure this should resolve any and all of my obsessions for detail as this looks insane to carve. I may have to cheat and use my lathe for a few parts...

Thank you,
Dan

Hey Sam,
Thanks for the suggestion but they don't have the right engine. I'll keep looking.

Take care,
Dan

Yikes!!! Good luck with that one Dan, I wil be keeping an eye out for the WIP when you start. Very ambitious project which I know you will pull off with your usual aplomb. Joe.

Until you can get the photos you need, maybe this link below will give you some info. to work with.

Check for someone like Fire Buffs or Antique fire apparatus clubs or museums that might actually do you the favor and take the photos if you mail a disposable camera to them with a pre-postaged return envelope.

Hey Bob,
The museum idea was a good one. I found an engine at a museum in Alberta. I sent them an email. Hopefully they will help. If not, well the quest goes on. Who knows, perhaps I'll design my own...

Take care,
Dan
