| | 1.legged miniature In our little town theres a man with only one leg that walks with a old wooden crutch to get around.
His name is Mr.Joe and with only one foot he moves kinda slow. I asked him this morning,"Hey Mr Joe how are you feelng Sir, "Ohhhhhh about the same,You got any change"?
I said so you are feeling bad,Yes!! Its this gosh dang cough,I need some med-i-sin then I will be ok again. I knew what what type of med-i-sin he wanted indeed a bottle of cheap wine would fill his needs.
I ask him,Mr Joe I have forgotten how you lost your other leg? Well sunny when the bank in town was being robbed,I stood up to do my job. But when the bank robbers was making thier get a way, I was shot in my leg and I lost my foot that very day.
I told him,Ohhhhh Thats right now I remember well, but I also knew a train ran over his leg when he was drunk laying on the rail.
From my pants pocket I pulled a dime,I told him, this is all I have at the time.
OK Sunny, that will do just fine.Course I knew later with other peoples money he would buy a bottle of cheap wine. Sure enough with the money he had and a big smile,he'd buy some wine and be asleep in a little while.
Not hearing or seeing Mr. Joe for the rest of the day, heck he might have got too drunk and past away? But as I walked back behind the old store,he was smiling as he snored!!
I wanted to carve something that didnt take alot of time today so I carved another miniature. Hes bigger than most of my minnies but it was fun and fairly quick.
Hes carved from a small chunk of knotty pine Id saved from the walls Id finished. I use only hard wood for carving miniatures because a hard wood allows me to carve & cut and it will hold even smaller detail than a soft wood as bass wood. Bass wood breaks off too easy.
Hes 1/4 X 1 1/4 inches,painted with acrylic.
I hope you enjoy him and course your thoughts or comments are more than welcome. Forrest
