Default You've Heard Of The Headless Horseman......

Well here is the headless hound dog. This is a Tom Wolfe hound dog ( from same book Gene is doing his current video) and I was almost done with the body and started to work on the head and I really made a mess of it so I did surgery and I am going to add another head to it... my first real carving surgery If not no biggie, but I want to try. I have 2 of the full sized ones cut out and 2 of the mini's.

Here is my current project and old Missouri mule from a Harold Enlow pattern. Hopefully I can finish this one without putting him in the Intensive Care Unit!

This is in response to Dagwoods post... "Messed Up Again" and yes it happens to me.

Corey

CoreThe body looks fantastic, I'm sure you'll do fine on the head attachment.

Thumbs up Re: You've Heard Of The Headless Horseman......

Corey . I agree with Bill .. the body is great looking .. Thats the wonderful thing about wood .. you can repair it ..

Corey .. You are a good carver and dont be so hard on yourself for a little infraction like not getting something just right ..

You mule is clean cut and the dog is also .. just do another head till you get it right .. Then .. cover it up when you attach it .. Let us see the finished piece though ..

I think you are doing a great job in a short time with your pieces ..

Keep it up

Gene

Thanks Bill and Gene for your kind words. Gene it really was a mess. I wacked off a vital section and tried to correct it and that was that. No biggie though, I will carve a dozen heads if I have to. I like this one.
Thanks,
Corey

A dog like that would be cheap to keep Corey.

Thanks Dwayne! Yes sir that is my carving chest. My wife bought that for me for Christmas. I intended to put some of my woodworking tools, planes, measuring stuff etc. in it but when I took up carving in Feb. it quickly became my carving chest. It's one of those gems from Harbor Freight. It's well worth the money, my wife got it for 59.00 on sale. Here is a link to the item and you can see addition photos of it on my website link below as well.
