Default Working on a new scene, here's "Auggie"..........

I started this with him holding a mug of beer, then changed it to a hunter in waders, hoding an old 10 gauge shotgun.
The figure is nearly to the painting stage, but needs cleaning up yet.
then I'll do his faithful, but reluctant old hound.
I'll call it "opening day"
The story will be the misadventures of a little guy with delusions of great hunting ability, even tho he was ejected from the local hunters group for accidentally burning down the hunting shack two years ago. Last fall sinking his own boat after downing most of a 12 pack of Grain Belt beer.
I like to have a story for my carvings.
Looking forward to painting the scene, and then I'll post it.

Hey Jim, he's excellent!!! Can't wait to see the whole scene together, should be something special. With that double barreled 10 ga. he looks ready for all those honkers and quackers to come into range. Great job.

Great carving (and story), can't wait to see him painted. Just a suggestion, based on the size of his nose and his drinking habits, make sure that schnozz has got a nice red glow to it.
Thanks for sharing;
Soggy

Great little hunter you carved there Jim! Be sure and post some photos once you have him painted and the scene completed... Going to be a fun little carving for sure. Thanks for sharing him and the story with us and safe carving to you!
