Don I have been following your blog since you started it and you always amaze me with your instructiional carving blogs, and your stories about carving, friends, and life in general. You inspire me to always do better. Hope to see you at Dayton this year. Not able to attend last year.

This is my first post although I've been reading and learning from everyone that posts on this neat message board. I've really enjoyed the links everyone posts and I feel a special thanks to Lynn O. Doughty because his Out West Woodcarving blog sparked my interest in character carving....Thanks Lynn!!!
And Donald K Mertz over at the Wood Bee Carver is amazing...I don't know if I will ever get finished reading his posts. Now if I can just learn to get my knife really sharp!!!

Thanks everyone,
Richard

I too love Don's site. Thanks Corey for reminding me. I tend to forget that there's new things on there all the time.

Cory,

I strongly agree, it almost like getting a Phd in woodcarving. I like Don's attitude about carving in general. He deserves all our appreciation, and then some.

I too enjoy Don's site immensely. I really enjoy carving miniatures and Don never fails to inspire in this area. After meeting Don at Dayton last year I can also say he is as nice of a person as his carvings are wonderful. Thanks to Don for the time and effort that he puts into his site. I think that this site, Don's site and Lynn Doughty's site are on my screen 90% of the time! Work gets the last 10%...
