Default Woodbee Carver's Blog

I don't know how many people follow Don Metz blog, but I have been doing so for awhile now and I think it's one of the best out there. Most know that Don is an awesome caricature carver but I hear little about his website and he sure doesn't do much promo on it. Consistent monthly posts and nice photos of Don's whittling/carving projects. I always look forward to Don's latest post. I just wanted to say Kudos Don and keep up the great work! Really enjoyed the latest post on some of your inspiration.

I couldn't agree more about Don's Blog. Besides being a great carver Don is also a great wordsmith who can generate articles that are worth reading even if you don't know that much about carving.

That is of course not to slight you Lynn, everyone knows you have a great blog going as well.

I had never heard of Ivan Denton and the info and photos that Don posted really intrigued me and I saw that there was a book done some years ago that showcases his beautiful carvings. So I went to Ebay and I found a brand new copy for less than 8.00 shipped. Looking forward to it.

Thanks to everyone for visiting my web log and for you kind words. It is a fun project for me to open up my world of carving ideas, experiences, tips, projects and ramblings of an old man. Every now and then I learn something new that I want to share with all my woodcarving friends for even though we may have not met in person, yet woodcarving binds us together in the family of carving friends. So as my good friend at whiteeaglestudio, Michael Keller says, "Stay sharp and be carveful."
