Default Trygg Carvings

I have read about the Trygg family carvings and was wondering if anyone knows if there were earlier members of the family that did carvings. I have a pair of old unpainted carvings that are signed in pencil on the bottom. It appears to have a first initial that I can't read followed by Thrygg (notice the h is still in the name) then under that it says Karlskoga which is a town in sweden. They are unpainted hobos and quite funny looking. I attached a few pics...I think. Thanks for any info.

I have looked at some other signatures and I think they may be very early CJ Trygg carvings. Does anyone have early Tyrgg carvings that show a similar mark?

Have you tried the "similar threads" at the bottom of this page? You might find something there. Rick-in-Seattle has quite a bit of knowledge and info on the Tryggs.

I have looked at the other threads but none of them appear to have the same mark. Most are from the later Tryggs. I tried emailing rick through his site and I am hoping to hear back. I am almost certain they are CJ Trygg but want to confirm.

I'm in no position to comment on their origin. However they are - to me- great pieces, enjoy them.

I am not a collector so I have put one of them on ebay to see what it will bring. Maybe I'll list the second one too if it sells well. Maybe I should put it in a gallery. I don't know what the best option is.
