Default Tom Hs' wizards

G'day All,
and congratulations to Tom H for his tutorial on making his little wizard giveaways in the current WCI, very well described and easy to follow. Of course I had to try one or more........WARNING! they are every bit as addictive as Genes little guys LOL... Well my efforts turned into a comedy of errors starting when I rushed out and diagonally cut a stick of what I thought was Jelutong ready to carve me a bucket full of wizards..............only to find once I'd started to carve, that I had cut a 1"x1" stick of Ramin...looks like Jelutong...light like Jelutong...feels like Jelutong, but as hard as the hobs of Hades..LOL.
Nevertheless, I pressed on valiantly and produced the results shown below......made mine into fridge magnets by cutting up one of those flexible magnets that some businesses give out as advertising....Have to admit that I fell an hour or two behind Toms 5 minutes, but Hey, I'm gonna keep practicing 'til I get it right...too much fun to pass up.
John

Hey John! Thanks for the nice words, and giving the wizards a try. I am sure that you'll get the time down to 5 minutes if you need to. They really do make great projects for the beginner, and just look at how nice they look when someone other than a beginner does them. Those that you did are great liile carvings, and yep they do make fun givaways too. A few week ago I made 100 of them and glued them to popcicle sticks (craft sticks) for switch blade "knives". They were well received by the kids...some of which were over 50 years old.
