Default Tom H Inspired Characters

Sizes vary from 1 1/2 to 4 Inches using 3/4" basswood block, painted with craft acrylics. Santas, Wizards and Other Characters. LOL

Hi All:

All these little guys were inspired by Tom H (Hindes) WCI Magazine article. These little characters have been such a joy to carve and paint. The ones you see here represent about 1/2 of what I've kept for myself the other 1/2 have been given away.
Thank you, Tom H,
Kathy

Wow! Those are fantastic and I am struggling with just one...lol. Kathy really nice job and the painting is tops! Love the extras like the glitter etc. Kathy can you tell me what color you are using for that beautiful Santa red in the first group? It looks so velvety and rich.
Thanks for posting more inspiration I will keep at it!

Corey

Thank you, Corey and Kenny these are so much fun. I have to tell you a little joke on myself. The second santa from the left was created from a mistake. I really didn't mean to have the santa as a hat. I started my cuts wrong and didn't want to waste the wood so that is how the santa hat came about.

Corey, that red is by DecoArt Americana and is called 'Santa Red'. It really is a pretty red and I use it for other carvings too.

Kathy

Well done Kathy,

It looks like you had a good time!
I've done a few of these and had a blast.
Yours are much more creative than mine were. I love the Robin Hood
Thanks Tom H and Woodcarving Illustrated for the great article.

Thanks for sharing Kathy!
Doug
