Default Thk U Grandpaw

My GrandPaw loved to whittle and most times you could find him in his wood shed. I was watching him carve a new dolly for my little sister Lilly. Grandmaw had sewed her a baby doll from pieces of a old quilt but Grandpaw was carving her one out of wood. Course stubbs our little dog that had only half a tail was GrandPaws carving buddy.

I loved watching my grandpaw carve,he'd made me some toys,I liked the toy men and the top he'd carved me and now little Lilly with be jumping for joy when she sees her new baby doll.

I looked at my grandpaw, can I ask you something? Sure son! Why did Paw and Maw have to leave us in the house fire. He paused then smile'd and said,Son the good Lord needed a few angels.

Now run and get your baby sister!! As little Lilly enter the shed door,"OHhhhhhhh MY Goodness" a new dolly!! Is it mine Grandpaw!! He smile and said,Sur is!! Look she has real eyes and pretty hair! Oh Thank you Grandpaw,THANK YOU!!!! Got to show GrandMaw!

The grandpaw is 3/4 X 1 3/4 inches The Grandpaw with the base is
1 7/8's of a inch.
Lilly is 5/8 X 1 inch
The Dog is 1/2 X 1/2 All carved from bass wood.

The base{floor} and bench is carved from cedar, bass wood would break being this thin. On the bench is,a vise, yellow ruler, mallet,a carving not done and a knive. All was painted with acrylics.

It was a fun project and I hope you like it plus your thoughts or comments as always are more than welcome.

Thks Forrest

Cliff,Im just enjoying trying is all but Im glad you liked this one for I value you and your nice thoughts. I have too many miles between me and my children and grandbabies but this old Paw is doing everything to make sure my grandbabies know how much I love them. Plus Im saving so many things for my children and grandbabies,it will take a while for them to go through them.LOL But well worth it.
Thanks again,Cliff for stopping by to comment on this little carving. Aww dant much~
