Default Are these caricatures (or just bad carvings :) ?)

A few days ago I posted a photograph of my ' for America' lion and lamb on the Webshots page

http://www.picturetrail.com/carvers-R-us

I have no idea if they qualify as caricatures. After I saw the photograph I could see what I couldn't in 'real life' ... they need something else so I'm working on a white dove holding an olive branch to sit on the lion's head.

I don't know whether they're considered 'caricatures' or not, but it is an absolutely wonderful piece!!!! You never cease to amaze me, Nancy!

Nancy,

one thing we know for sure is they are not bad carvings!
if not caracatures perhaps we can start a new catagory... 'DELIGHTFUL'. Winners as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Â* Â* Nancy, it's great! Â*How imaginative!! Â*I'm planning a couple Patriotic pieces and all I thought up was different Red, White and Blue Santas. Â*You are so creative!!
Â* Â* It's perfect the way it is, the dove will be a bonus! Â*Be sure to show us another picture when you add him! Â*Callynne

Nancy, I can't answer your question, but I love the carving!
Those are so creative and so cute! I think the dove will be the perfect touch!

Nancy,
Not a thing wrong with your carvings. Like Pyrogite, I don't know if they're caricatures or not but, they are good carvings.

Â* Â* You're right, the dove is the perfect touch!! Â*How did you do the lamb? Â*Did you use a gouge and cut around each 'wool bump' or did you woodburn them? Â*Sure is a one great piece! Â*Callynne

Callynne, yes, each wool bump (I call it 'popcorn' for want of a better word) on the lamb is carved out individually. I sometimes use the same technique for a Santa's beard or hair on a garden girl.

Nancy, I am blown away by the incredible talent you have! I stopped by your photo album and must have spent an hour just looking at all your photos individually. What a creative person you are!

Where do you sell your carvings? May my best carving be as good as your 'worst' carving!

Sincerely,
Aud
