| | Are these caricatures (or just bad carvings :) ?) A few days ago I posted a photograph of my ' for America' lion and lamb on the Webshots page http://www.picturetrail.com/carvers-R-us
I have no idea if they qualify as caricatures. After I saw the photograph I could see what I couldn't in 'real life' ... they need something else so I'm working on a white dove holding an olive branch to sit on the lion's head. |

one thing we know for sure is they are not bad carvings!
if not caracatures perhaps we can start a new catagory... 'DELIGHTFUL'. Winners as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Not a thing wrong with your carvings. Like Pyrogite, I don't know if they're caricatures or not but, they are good carvings. |

| | Re: Are these caricatures (or just bad carvings :) Â* Â* You're right, the dove is the perfect touch!! Â*How did you do the lamb? Â*Did you use a gouge and cut around each 'wool bump' or did you woodburn them? Â*Sure is a one great piece! Â*Callynne |

| | Re: Are these caricatures (or just bad carvings :) Callynne, yes, each wool bump (I call it 'popcorn' for want of a better word) on the lamb is carved out individually. I sometimes use the same technique for a Santa's beard or hair on a garden girl. |

| | | Re: Are these caricatures (or just bad carvings :) Nancy, I am blown away by the incredible talent you have! I stopped by your photo album and must have spent an hour just looking at all your photos individually. What a creative person you are!
Where do you sell your carvings? May my best carving be as good as your 'worst' carving!
Sincerely,
