Default Some Christmas Cheer!

Just finished a few carvings after attending a Don Mertz workshop in Ohio last week. All were carved with just a knife from a chunk of basswood. I have never carved a santa before and this was a practice run in preperation for christmas. A short guy, A shelf sitter and a flat ornament/broach. Enjoy!

Good job on those! I have to tell you, they all look like they have been up to something. Good thing they ARE Santa, or they might be on the chunk of coal list. Very cool that you got to take Don Mertz's workshop.

Shady characters fer shur...

Nice work! Great facial features. Would love to attend one of Don's workshops. His website is one of the most amazing places on the Internet imo. Every time I go there, it's an hour or more before I leave.

Lucky you, I'd love to take a work shop with Don. He is a great carver and he obviously is a great teacher...your Santa's look great. Now that you've started...there is no end!!!
