Default So on your bench?

Just wondering what everyone is working on now that the Holidays are history? I'm working on mice and stuff for an up coming show in Bellevue Ohio.

Sound off,
Doug

I've returned to working on relief carvings after breaking my latest spoon at the bowl. I've got two projects going both are relief. Both going very slowly.

I'm carving a couple of things. I have a Kestrell in progress, a pirate ship and a man who really needs to get into a bathroom which is out of order. The last is an accidental carving. I made the roughout too large for my ship and I didn't want to waste him. I hope he turns out well.

Lol...I'm still finishing a Santa carving. I'm hoping it is ready for next Christmas.

I've been practicing some woodburning. (Got a woodburner for Christmas) Built a pyrography table...does that count?

Talking Re: So on your bench?

I am working on two different articles for WCI one I submitted and was approved and another one I have been asked to write. Along with a pile of knives, some wood spirits, an elf who was hiding, and I think there is a bark lighthouse sitting around someplace.

-I have Susan’s Grape leaf man as an ongoing project
-A version of CraverRog’s abstract ribbon carving (2.0)
-Putting a finish on an otherwise completed chip carved platter
-Drawing the layout for a new chip carved platter ( I have it here at work!)
-Drawing the layout on a butternut plank for a repaired panel by Ross Fuller from the -Guild of Master Craftsman book “Beginning Woodcarvving” (also here at work…for the large photocopier!)
-Assembling a new gouge rack
-Finish an in-the-round turtle for my daughter
-A small oak plaque from the “weekend project” series from the British magazine “Woodcarving”.
-An acanthus handled spoon started from and old issue of WCI

As a hobby carver I'm all about the process.
So, for every project I actually complete I have three or four new ones started...just to keep me engaged and to always have things at different levels of completion and new types of challenges.
Each just an excuse & chance to walk into my little shop space and be at peace with the world once again...

Russ
