Default A Smiling Native American

I remember a few weeks ago someone commented that they hardly ever saw "smiling" Native Americans. To help correct that misconception here is my latest piece. It's "Charlie Red Hawk", a good-natured fella, on his way to the local Stomp Dance. You can find more of him on my Blog. Will post the painted shots later.

I like the top hat. It really adds to the character. I bet that boy will enjoy a little whiskey at the Dance.

[He reminds me of the Native American in the movie "McClintock" with John Wayne. I don't think he had a top hat, but something just made me think of that movie. It was a character named Running Bull and his line (one of) was "Swell party, where's the whiskey?"]

The unpainted Charlie Red Hawk looks like a dapper fellow. As always your work is top notch Lynn.

This has got to be one of my favorites! The detail and the pose are just great. Looking forward to seeing the paint job on this one.

A smile that wide usually means something seriously funny or rewarding! Maybe he's just found a new wife! Or maybe he just recieved an e-mail about winning a lottery that he didn't enter!!!

Regardless the reason, a great carving Lynn, and am looking forward to the completed work.
