Thank you for all the comments. I'm still working on making a "happy" face . Seems the character lines make it easier to carve and, unfortunately, make it appear male and give it a grumpy look. If there is an easy woman's face, I'd like the link to it, too.

The fire near Hope, NM was 45,000 acres and was not available to any water. All water had to be trucked in, so firebreaks, etc. had to be used to contain it. The cactus, mesquite, and grey thorn popped the tires on the trucks. It was about 30 miles from our house and moving away. We are in the extreme fire danger time of year, so we expect more fires.

I have seem the smiling eyes thread, but if there is a "happy" face thread I'll need help finding it.
