| | Re: Signup Group Project III Well group three I received the new project today. I am having a little difficulty trying to figure out how to carve all these caricatures out of a single log. Maybe Rick sent the wrong design with this log. I did not know I was signing up for a chainsaw project. When the delivery service called and asked if I had a forklift to unload the log I got a little concerned. When I got home I had to park in the neighbors driveway because mine was filled up with this log. I tied a log chain on it and drug it up the driveway and into the shop. Tomorrow I will lift it with the chain hoist so I can place it on the saw horses so I can square it up with the chain saw. I will be sending Colin all of the bark I cut off for his wind spirits. It is a good thing the next carver lives close. I will have to take it over to him next in my truck as soon as I am finished. I hope you guys have big tools and a mallet. This is a big project.

| | Re: Signup Group Project III Good thing I am down towards the bottom of the list. Hopefully by then that log that greyhair was talking about will be whittled down to a walking stick so I will have something I can work with.
Look forward to seeing the project!!

| | Re: Signup Group Project III Well my chainsaw is out of gas, my shop is full of chips, my knives are dull, my gouges worn and my arms are tired.
The good news is I got that log cut down to size and it is at least capable of being shipped via UPS if you call and let them know to bring a dolly to pick it up.
I put some of the trimmings and chips in a separate box, since I was worried about the one chainsaw mishap just in case Melvin, the next carver, needs a little filler. It is nice to get my shop back and to have that log shipped.
Good Luck Melvin.
BTW Nancy I was not at the show, wish I was.

| | Re: Signup Group Project III Got the carving today from Greyhair. Man, was he right he did use a chainsaw on it. Not to worry, I got the bondo out and the sledge hammer to put it back together.
Great roughout Rick.
