I have the project cut out.

I need to rough it out a little and then send it to BigAl.

I am still waiting for the Postal Service to deliver the carving so I can paint it.

From what I have heard, it turned out very, very well.

Rick,
We are going to Alaska, leaving on the 14th and returning on the 28th. We will be in Van Cover for 2 days, anyone know any carving connected places that would be fun to visit?

I’m scheduled for shoulder surgery July 19th and Doc. Says “long rehab”. I see that I’m first on the list which will probably conflict with our trip and or the surgery. I don’t want to hold up the project, so if you think you can fit my time in another slot that would be great. If not it would be best to drop my name from the list, hopefully there will be another opportunity. When I signed up I was thinking I would be down the list a ways. A coach once said “when you think you hurt the whole team”.

Some Doctor wanted to work on my shoulder for "impingement" my chiropractor said that it would work for about 2 years, then the problem would come back and there was nothing he could do.....so he gave me a large, what looks like a rubber band and a couple of exercises....within a week, my shouler problem was gone.....that was a year ago....one time during that time I got a little ache in my shoulder and had to repeat the exercises, and no problem since.....don't have a clue what your problem is, but just what happened to me.

Hi HO,
Thanks for the information and the thought.
This started about 2 years ago and I went to some PT which helped. Then this Fall I was trimming a Mesquite tree and couldn’t quite reach an overhead branch so I exhibited my tremendous vertical leap (3”) and grabbed the branch which was about 1.25” diameter and proceeded to squeeze my hands together above my head. This cut the limb and also produced a loud pop in my left shoulder. Since then I have a hard time doing anything that requires me to exert much effort when my elbow is much above a 45* angle to my body. After much PT and Cortisone shots and MRI the Doc thinks the rotator cuff is torn so he is going to go in with a scope and look around. I know this doctor, he hunts with my son in law, and he has operated on several people I know including 2 grandson’s knees. He is conservative and usually right in his initial diagnosis. So I think I need to bite the bullet and get it done.

No problem Ed.

***********************

After seeing the lineup for this project, I decided not to rough it out.
I just hope there is enough wood for 10 carvers.
It will ship to big Al early next week.
